Study suggests stay-at-home orders and people gained nearly two pounds a month.
It’s not surprising that when you’re put in your home to work, you will be snacking a lot. I looked into this last year and saw it as an opportunity to take control of my health but the problem is not all of us consider it as an opportunity and look at it that way.
The Study has reported that participants under the stay-at-home orders gained on average 0.59 pounds every 10 days during lockdown. These findings can indicate that as many as 20 pounds gained over the course of 2020 and early 2021 for some newly-remote workers.
They found that changes in physical activity, pattern of daily living, increased snacking and overeating were the causes of the participant’s weight gain.
First of all, we have to understand that obesity is now at 42.4 percent of people in the United States. This is the first time that we reached the 40 percent mark. This is crazy!
What’s more shocking is obesity has increased by 26 percent since 2008.
When we look at the overall obesity epidemic occurring, it is a healthcare disaster causing more people to have high blood pressure, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, hormone imbalances… the list goes on.
